Where: Wortham Center for the Performing Arts (Henry LaBrun)
Getting off on the right foot makes all the difference in great scene work. This class focuses on building strong foundations that help you relax, have fun, and create clear, engaging scenes. You’ll learn how to create specific, detailed characters and stories on your feet, and how doing less, taking your time, and focusing on small details can lead to richer, more compelling work.
We’ll explore simple, practical ways to start scenes so your fellow players can relax, stop negotiating, and just play. A solid beginning also helps the audience settle in and enjoy the story without confusion. You’ll also learn easy techniques for course-correcting a scene and getting back to a grounded and confident place.
